The results of the “Free Study 2023-08” and “Implied Lines III” challenges have been recalculated due to the disqualification of the former 5th place images. For both challenges, the entrant’s originals were corrupted when importing them from their phone.

Congrats to our new HMs.

Sorry about your DQs, Anita! But as I wrote in the comment to one of your entries, on my Samsung Galaxy phone, even if I modify the image inside my phone using built-in Photo Editor, I can always "revert" it back to the original state and use this file for validation. Are you sure you cannot do it on your Google Pixel?

It’s quite bizarre because I could do it on my other phones, but somehow I can’t with this phone.

I have the original for lines, because I did email that to myself. So I’m not sure why that was disqualified, I uploaded it, but somehow it’s still being disqualified.

I’m not sure what phone you used (brand) - but I have learned that I must make a copy of the photo first - before I do anything to it with edits.

Can you send an unedited picture (any picture) to SC to see if they can see can look at the EXIT file and see if it’s good - a test photo per se.

I’m using the Google pixel seven. I have already sent an unedited version of my implied lines, which is valid, I’m pretty sure my freestyle has been corrupted. I can’t revert back to the original somehow on the phone. And even though I emailed several people the photo it seems the file has been reduced. I’m not sure why could be my settings, I’ll have to look into that.

Not according to what we received.

Sorry, I should reiterate I have the original now, and I asked Robert if I could submit it but he said the SC had already spent too much time on this disqualification I have to mention that you did not contact me for over 48 hours to sort this out. I don’t really care about being disqualified at the end of the day. But fairness should prevail. IMHO.

We're not able to extract EXIF from your workshop images. I'm through with this now.

I understand that, but I have already stated I can re-send the valid jpeg for 'implied lines'. I'm not sure why you will not allow me to do so. Here is a photo of the exif data on my image I will accept the DQ on free study as I seem to have totally destroyed the exif on that image, albeit I have no idea how as I'm normally careful about handling original photos, but it is what it is.

We've reinstated the Implied Lines image. Despite that we had DQ'd for lack of an original, said original WAS produced not long after that point and it seemed like the fair thing to do.

Sorry for all the kerfuffle.

Glad it was resolved fairly! Kudos SC!
