i could have entered this in the standard edit free study .. and looking back maybe i should have .. as its a much more attractive image than a robberfly eating a bee .. but its not an extended edit at all ..
hopefully the voters will think it is .. or not .. depending on their particular beliefs about what should and shouldnt go in an extended edit challenge .. ;)

[Mar. 21st, 2021 10:59:21 PM]

was SO excited about the reaction this received during voting .. mid 7's most of the week ..
thankyou all for your lovely comments ..
i thought i'd get on my profile page for sure

then in the last couple of hours of voting it dropped from 7.4 to 7.2 .. in only four votes .. boo hoo

after rollover ..
blown away ..
thankyou for all the love . xx

willem .. seems i got lucky .. the bee probably had a quick shower before going out to collect pollen and nectar .. !! .. ;)

just to add .. me of few words .. !! .. ;)
THANKYOU SO MUCH TO EVERYONE FOR YOUR AMAZING COMMENTS ON THIS IMAGE .. before and after voting ..
i feel its one of my best .. mainly because its beautiful .. and most of my insects shots arent .. thankyou little flower and thankyou little bee .. they made this happen ..

Well! Would you look at that! No vote under a 5!

Congratulations! The low voters loved this one!

SO DO I!!

It's amazing! And to be Standard Editing?! You're amazing, Roz! But... I'm pretty sure I've said that a bunch. :D

Yeah... when I have an image that's doing well, it always falls in the last few hours. If I have an image that's stinking... it goes up in the last few hours.

I'm very interested in this phenomenon, actually.

Anyway... CONGRATULATIONS!

This should be the cover of a magazine. I love the way the color of the bee blends in with the background and yet is so sharp it stands out. The softness of the flower also accentuates your subject. Just a perfect balance. My favorite of the challenge and one of your best! Congratulations.

This is really stunningly beautiful - one of my favourite of your macro photos and there is a lot of amazing shots to compare to. It is just perfect in every way. Congrats!

Soooo gorgeous. I gave it a 7 early on (when I was doing the initial walk-through and that's the highest score I hand out) but did my bumping relatively late. One of my two 10's and Mary Ann got my other one :) Terrific work.

Roz, this is stunning! It was also my highest score and a favorite. The detail in the Bee and the beautiful background came together so well. Congratulations!

I really need to watch some tutorials on how to get such sharp, close up images. This is amazing!

Wow, how can this bee be so incredibly clean? I had a similar (sort of ;-)) picture of a bee pollinating a flower and it was covered in pollen everywhere. This picture is so clean and has a nice sharpness as well as softness. I love the warm light from the top right.
