this is my grandson Leo who is 33 months old .. my daughter Ali came over to visit and Leo wanted to feed the sheep at my brother's house down the road ...

there were five adults all mingling around while Leo had his first experience with the sheep .. so getting any photos that worked would be a miracle ..
ppl in my family seldom make allowances for me when i'm taking photos .. they'll walk in front of me and seem to be almost oblivious to the fact that i'm trying to get a photo .. :(
also i had the lensbaby sweet35 on the camera so that makes getting a shot very hit and miss as well ..

a while ago i posted some utube videos in a thread about various things in regard to shooting what you want rather than what you think other ppl want .. being in the moment .. and much much more ..
check out the utube videos by Alex Kilbee in this thread

as a result of watching those videos i decided to just shoot with just the sweet35 without taking a backup lens .. and if i didn't get any keepers that would be totally ok ..

i particularly love the effect of the lensbabies and know that not everyone does .. that's also ok .. i entered this photo for me ..

getting Leo at this exact moment was such a bonus ..
its a composite of two photos .. someone's hand was in one of the photos so i had to do some 'expert' editing to make my finished image work ..
btw .. 'expert' is a bit of a misnomer .. i'm more of a learner .. :)

be extremely interested to see how this goes .. the emotion should appeal .. not sure about the blur .. ;)

after rollover ..
THANKYOU SO MUCH EVERYONE FOR YOUR LOVELY COMMENTS xx
ending up top five with this photo is AWESOME .. be great to convert some of the anti blur ppl a teensy bit lol .. ;)

Congratulations Roz! What a stunning image, really capturing the moment and the emotion of your grandson. I LOVE the lensbaby but mine is mostly in a bag :-(. I need to watch that video you mention :-).

i certainly would have scored this highly but honestly capturing a moment like this works whether it's blurred or not.

Congratulations Roz. Another wonderful photo for the family album. (Do people still keep those?)

This one will be treasured. Captures all of the movement and emotion of the moment. Nicely done.

This is such a KEEPER Roz, I feel you should put it up on a canvas and gift it to your daughter. Adorable moment.

Great capture. Used a lens baby? Such a natural expression of joy and a bit of anxiety. Great use of focus to put the emphasis on the boy. The sheep are just at the perfect positions. Top Image.
