i'm not a big fan of minimal editing challenges especially when shooting insect macros ..

the depth of field is so shallow that getting all of an insect in focus without focus stacking is pretty difficult ..

you can make the aperture smaller and increase the depth of field .. but the background can get too busy .. which isnt a great look in my personal opinion ..

i took quite a few photos for this challenge .. and mainly of grasshoppers because thats all i could find in the grass ..

they are very very shy and when you get near them they can move to hide behind the grass they are on .. or jump away out of sight completely ..

i rather like some of the photos i've taken of them peeking out behind the grass .. quite cute .. but dont think they'd go well in a challenge ..

anyway .. this is going a lot better than i expected with a bit less than 12 hours of voting to go ..

Congrats, I agree with you that Minimal is challenging, but I do like them, just pushes my photography a bit,as I usually tend to rely on PS "to fix it" :-)

This is a stand out image. All your images are beautiful and yes this challenge guarantees a different reality but this is so good.
I would love to see the ones hiding in the grass. Thank you for sharing that.

With those horns it's easy to be cocky. Splendid peek into this world underfoot. Congenial greens. The eye looks like agate. Nice clarity. Subtle diagonals.
