 i was quite excited about this challenge and went to a lot of trouble getting the shot i wanted .. i dont usually try so hard ..

two days in a row .. for the lighting .. to get the orientation right .. to not distort the steering wheel with the fisheye lens .. to balance both sides .. and get everything in the shot .. quite challenging ..

i wanted an interior shot and thought it would be more interesting with a passenger ..

so i put Tod in the car .. he actually started crying after a while .. because he didn't want to be in the car and didnt want to lie down .. he gets car sick and that's another story ..

randomly i'd had my car detailed the day before .. so the timing was perfect ..

then when voting started and i was getting some really low votes i wondered why ..

was it the title ..
was it too spick ..
was it the distortion of the fisheye lens ..
was it because of the dog in the car .. but surely not .. cars are a means of transportation .. so a passenger just bulks it out ..
or was it because it was an interior shot .. also surely not .. the challenge specified "car/automobile as the main subject" .. and the interior is just as relevant as the exterior ..

would have been excellent to get feedback as to why the low votes .. along the lines of learning .. still waiting .. ;)

very cute. maybe the low votes were because it was interior. not everybody reads challenge descriptions.

I was struck by how clean it was. The passenger adds so much. My dogs love a good car ride. My biggest problem all the nose smudges on the windows... Nicely done.

Your steering wheel is on the wrong side.

This was the best in show picture for me Roz. Wonderful, charming, well photographed and technically superb.
Don’t think of the low votes. One reason for some voter would be the recognizable character; ie, YOU.
I ‘d like that people understand that giving low votes for not mentioning the reason would hurt them first. Give low vote=getting low votes by establishing a pattern

thanks so much Marion .. you and Spence have put a really lovely slant on this ..

I just wish ppl would say why they didn't like it ..

not to be immodest but I felt it was the best thing I've done in a long while ..

anyway .. it will be a thing of the past in a very short time .. and then it won't bother me at all .. :)
