I am a can of paint.

---------------------------------------------------------

I placed some objects around a automobile spray booth, including me. I was trying to make the irregular balance of objects lead your eye to my shadow. I like the idea of how no matter where you go (where there is light, at least) your shadow follows you. Doppleganger

No silly grunge filters- a mixture of strange levels adjustments, duplicated layers set to random things, lotsa dodging and burning, color balance, selective color, sponge tool and I forget the rest.

Hi from the Critique Club.

Uhhh. I drew this picture, why??? :) I don't feel qualified to critique your work but here it goes.

First Impression: What cool stuff was done to the walls. But, you said it was just your basic PP and you really dont remember. Guess its paint overspray. I didnt recognize the face as I've only been here at DPC for a few months, but its safe to say itll be recognized from here on out.

Composition: The paint cans were genius. even though there isn't much color in them, the little they provide makes an interesting balance to rest of the pic. Good placement. Im a fan of the minimalist type picture and this one has a some of that for me with your position in an almost empty room. you did a nice job of including just a sliver of the ceiling for proportion.

Technical: I dont care for the heavy shadows on the lh side of your face... awwh nevermind. The shadow is a little "monster" looking though so I wonder if a slighly different light positon might have given it a little more shape.

Challenge: Seriously now, you took the "mundane" idea that a shadow always follows you around, added a cool environment and turned it into an interesting picture. IMO thats what makes this pic "cool"(is cool only an 80's expression?).

As always, great job and I personally don't think people vote you up just because you are recognizable. Pretty sure your pictures would garner high scores even with one of ROFLMAO's wood modeling figures :)

Mark
P.M. if you have any questions and keep shooting.

Good color, but I don't see the lines of this sitting man, if you will turn him 90 graduates, I think its better for composition.

Very nice. I like how you have managed to develop a distinctive signature style.
I wonder if you'd care to share post processing details of one of your pics in the "How did thay do that ?" section.

Ah....congrats once again on a ribbon. I thought this was you. Actually, I rated it about a pt lower than I probably would have had I not realized it was you.

Knowing the photo was a Joey Lawrence shot I was really half expecting the shadow to be turning toward you in counter action (you know, how the shadows of 'toons always act on their own).

Good job and congrats on the ribbon.

Nice environmental portrait... I like all the detail and textures of the environment, the simple pose of the subject and the yellow light too. Works really well.

Very moody capture, bit depressive, but it's great. Exposure, lighting and colours work well in a harmony for the subject.

That looks like Joey Lawrence. I've been trying to look at this image without thinking of any of your other work to bias me. I've decided that I'd still love it if I knew nothing of you. It would still be one of my favorites in the group and here's why... I'm liking the photos that are a composition of more than just the shadow and you have captured that here. The placing of the chair and the stack of paint cans and the background clutter - especially the red items up on top - it doesn't look deliberate - it all seems very naturally placed - but I know you probably did place everything just so on purpose - to lead the eye around the image in just the right way. Or at the very least, recognized that all that stuff looked good the way it already was - I don't know - maybe you were just lazy and didn't want to move anything out of the way - whatever the reason - it worked well. Coloring, focus, lighting, it has it all - especially, as usual, the superb processing. Your pose is great as is the title and of course, it meets the challenge. I'm not sure if it's the most creative in the lot - but I do know it's the best quality as far as layout and processing goes. You certainly don't need any more ribbons - but this image is very worthy of one.

A cool shot. Especially for this challenge. Great mood set overall. I like how the shadow goes from the floor to vertically on the cabinets. Neat how, even in the whole dark, bleak setting, the shadow still stands out prominently. Nice job!
