shadow play - an ancient art form invented in China

[Sep. 21st, 2011 09:18:01 PM]

so, looks like I did not waste my 8 euros and physical efforts to climb on top of the recently restored Frauenkirche in Dresden ;). I was lucky that the sky was clear in the late afternoon, so I could capture these lo-o-ong shadows.

Vertical flipping was obviously inspired by the famous National Geographic cover photo by George Steinmetz, I don't want to claim copyright here :).

By the way, I did not convert it to sepia, this was more-less the natural color of the scene at that golden hour.

Sometimes my favorite image gets high up there ... and the impossible happens! Congratulations Lev.
Dresden, of course. Thus the small shadows, by your choice, until all will fade in history.

Wow. In my books you dont get better than this. This comes straight from the top drawer. You have just shown why ancient art is as relevent today as it was then. Congrats on the Ribbon

You took a great picture here! Standing on its own, independently of the challenge but fulfilling it beautifully is for me a splendid achievement.
Great idea to leave it in color since I believe most of the people would have chosen B&W. 10.
(The top right corner is a bit too dark and it reverses the perspective a notch, but it's basic editing, I know)
