Wow!! I've never seen such a climb in the last 24 hours of a challenge! I was at 6.88 yesterday, and at 7.11 now. (Of course there's still 3.5 hours to go, so I may lose the 7, but it's been a fun ride!)

Usually I don't do similar shots in almost back to back competitions. But I've wanted to do this for a about 4 months. But I kept waiting. When the pumpkin challenge came along, I figured that I'd better do it. My pumpkin carving skills could never stand on their own!!

Then right angle was announced. I already did pumpkin... do I pull it and come up with something else on extremely short notice? Nope. Couldn't. Pumpkin stayed in. What was I going to do for right angle?

The first thought of course was "SQUIRREL!" -- pictures of peanuts, then a squirrel standing next to the frame eating a peanut.

Here's the peanuts:

but it was a crummy start, and wasn't going to work with a squirrel, anyway.

Next was a pear being eaten:

but even though an apple with a bite out of it or an apple core are both photographic, pears partially eaten are quite ugly!!

Next was a flower in different stages of life.

fun idea, badly done. I might still do one someday, but I'm happy to get away from these pictures for awhile. I've had more than enough of them! I'm not eager to do more, but extremely happy with the results!

Thanks for the great comments and votes!! (oops, except for the one that came in just now... ;P )

Love the tones and the lighting in this one. Would like to see a tutorial on how it was done. (Which if there already is one, means I was too lazy or dumb to find it. ;-).

For me it has just the right amount of whimsy.... Congratulations on the yellow.

Very cool image.
Total nitpicking here- there's something odd about the left side of the frame and a portion of the bottom of the frame. The tone is different for some reason.
Great shot though.
