Not! :-)

My A7II sensor was dirty. Dang. Hadn't realized how dirty until after a shot I took the other day showed them off. Usually don't shoot stopped down very much with this body, and I do swap out lens in the field frequently with it, so I'm not surprised.

Took 4 swipes at it before getting it to a mostly satisfactory state. Still not perfect, but way better. :-)

Anybody else had any fun lately?

LOL, I was just thinking about this the other day. I've never cleaned my R5 sensor, it really should be done sometime soon. Not looking forward to it.

Let me know how you make out and your technique. I haven’t done mine either.

Ha -- I did indeed have some fun with this last week myself! I have done this a couple times before, but I'm always fairly terrified to do it. I have had my Nikon D6 since 2020, and I decided it was finally time to do it. I was shooting a dance studio, and with the light-colored backdrop and smaller apertures, the dust shows up pretty badly.

So I took a practice swing on my D800, and everything went well. And I *thought* everything went well when I did it on the D6. But when I got to the dance studio, I looked at my first few images and realized that I must have been a tiny bit off center with the pad, and it left a streak along the top of the sensor! This meant that the bottom of each image, or the right side of images if I shot vertically, had a very noticeable streaked blob on it.

I'm just glad I noticed it within the first several clicks, so I just reverted to using my D800, and I went home and re-swabbed it again. Thankfully everything worked out fine for the next night's photos!
